First market day

Yesterday was our first week at the market this season. We had a spicy lettuce mix, baby arugula, our multipurpose baby greens mix, spinach, green onions, radishes and gigantic rhubarb. I carried all this stuff from Fairview to Cottonwood Market on my beast of a bike and trailer:

The market was fairly busy, although the weather did take a turn for the worst partway through the day. It rained then hailed and got much colder than I was prepared for. I had to pack up a little early, and ended up with quite the surplus of the lovely multimix (mizuna, baby kale and baby rainbow chard):

I managed to give away a lot of it to my landowners for their weekly supply of produce, but still I have a great big bag of it in the fridge. I have to get on top of my alternate sales routes! Been so busy getting organized for the harvest that I haven't had time to figure out what to do with it all.

I want to set up an e-mail list of individuals and families who would be interested in having a weekly supply of produce, if they don't mind swinging by my house in Fairview to pick it up from my walk-in cooler (which I just set up in my garage last week). I hope to have more info on that system soon!
